In a written reply in the Lok Sabha, Labour and Employment Minister Bhupender Yadav said the e-Shram portal was initially designed to have a daily registration capacity of 10 to 15 lakh per day. The portal was launched in August last year to create a National Database of the Unorganised Workers in the country. He said, however, the portal received unprecedented response from unorganised workers and the actual load increased beyond the initial designed capacity.<br />''<br />''Mr Yadav said, one of the main objectives of the e-Shram portal other than registration is to facilitate delivery of benefits of social security schemes to the unorganised workers through integration with other government portals.</span><br />
