Cancellation train services hit normal life in Telengana region

In Andhra Pradesh, normal life in Telangana region is hit on Saturday following cancellation of almost all train services in the region in the wake of two-day rail roko protest called by Telangana Joint Action Committee.

The South Central Railways have cancelled over two hundred trains originating or passing through the region as a precautionary measure. Several other train services including super fast and long distance trains have been rescheduled for these two days.

In Hyderabad, all the MMTS train services have also been cancelled. Meanwhile, the agitators are holding protest demonstrations on the tracks at several places across the region and the situation is so far peaceful.

Hundreds of railway and state special police personnel have been deployed to protect railway properties throughout the region.

Meanwhile, the auto riksha unions in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad have begun 48-hour long strike in support to the statehood issue.
