Canadian band rocks at Grammy Awards

The Canadian rock band Arcade Fire beat out Lady Gaga, Eminem, Lady Antebellum and Katy Perry to take home the top prize at the 53rd annual Grammy Awards. In the biggest upset, Arcade Fire's The Suburbs won the Grammy for Album of the Year at the awards ceremony broadcast live from Los Angeles. Still, Lady Antebellum won big at the Grammys with the trio's song Need You Now winning Grammys for Song of the Year and Record of the year. Lady A's album, also titled Need You Now, won for Best Country Album. Another upset win saw young jazz musician Esperanza Spalding receiving recognition as the best new artist over teen sensation Justin Bieber. Rapper Eminem had 10 nominations but took home only two Grammys – Best Rap Album for Recovery and Best Rap Solo Performance for Not Afraid. British rock band Muse's The Resistance won the Grammy for the Best Rock Album, and Lady Gaga's The Fame Monster won the Best Pop Vocal Album. Singers Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga took home the honors for the top male and female pop artists respectively.
