Campaigning reached to a new height for final phase of Bihar polls

In Bihar, campaigning has reached to a new height for the sixth and final phase of elections in 26 assembly constituencies on Saturday with political parties fielding their star campaigners.Addressing election rallies at Bhabhua and Buxar Congress President Sonia Gandhi attacked on NDA government in the state for its failure to use thousands of crores of rupees sent by the Centre to benefit the poor. Without mentioning RJD and NDA she said non-Congress governments were responsible for Bihar's backwardness during the past 20 years. She accused the Nitish Kumar Government of making empty promises. She said people of the state are forced to leave their places in search of employment as state government was failed to provide them livelihood at their door steps under several welfare schemes initiated by the centre.Addressing election rallies in favour of NDA candidates at Sasaram, Bhabhua and Nokha Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader L K Advani said corruption has now become an important issue as major scams had surfaced in the country. Referring 2 G spectrum allocation issue he demanded that Prime Minister should immediately respond to Supreme Court without any delay. Underlining achievements of ruling NDA in the state he said Nitish government has fulfilled its promises for development and better law and order.Several senior congress leaders including union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, Subodh Kant Sahay, Shakeel Ahmad, Rajbabbar, Azharuddin, Mukul Vasnik and party`s state unit president Mehboob Ali Kaiser have hectic schedule for campaigning for party candidates.Leaders from both NDA and RJD- LJP alliance today concentrated at Naxal hit segments in Gaya, Kaimur, Aurangabad and Rohtas districts. JDU President Sharad Yadav and RJD leaders Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi and LJP Chief Ram Vilas Paswan addressed several public meetings in these districts. Many senior leaders from ruling NDA partner Bharatiya Janata Party including Shatrughan Sinha, Rajeev Pratap Rudi, Shahnawaz Husain, Sushil Modi and CP Thakur have also campaigned for NDA candidates in most of the districts. JDU leader Chief Minister Nitish Kumar addressed election rallies at Rohtas and Kaimur districts.
