Campaigning on peak in Saurashtra region for Gujarat Assembly polls:

Campaigning in Saurashtra region of Gujarat is on peak with top leaders of major political parties addressing series of public meetings. With only two days left for campaigning, leaders are keeping no stone unturned to woo the voters.

Addressing a public meeting in Vansada in tribal dominated Navasari district, the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh said, people in Gujarat should get rid of politicians indulging in divisive politics. He said, Gujarat's development is only for a few people and large sections are untouched by it. Dr. Singh said, benefits of Central Government schemes are not reaching everyone. He alleged that the Gujarat Government has failed on several fronts including progress of tribals, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes community. Large number of women from tribals community and youth were present in the election rally.

After the public meeting of Congress President Sonia Gandhi at Keshod, BSP chief Mayavati is addressing a public meeting in Rajkot city on Sunday.

BJP’s poll campaign is mainly dominated by Chief Minister Narendra Modi, who is addressing several election meetings in Saurashtra. Senior Congress leader Shankarsinh Waghela is leading party’s poll campaign in the region, while Gujarat Parivartan Party President Keshubhai Patel is also campaigning in Saurashtra in favour of his party candidates.
