Campaigning on peak for last phase of Bihar Assembly polls

In Bihar, campaigning is at its peak for the 6th and last phase of Assembly elections. Senior leaders from different political parties are addressing election rallies in Aurangabad district to woo the voters. Polling will be held on 20th of this month. AIR correspondent reports Aurangabad is a district in Magadh region and is associated with first Deputy Chief Minister cum Finance Minister of Bihar late Dr. Anugrah Narayan Sinha and former Chief Minister Satyendra Narayan Singh. A total of 80 candidates including 5 women are in fray from six constituencies of the district. Four segments are Naxal affected. Both the alliances including NDA and RJD LJP alliance are claiming for power in the state. Congress and BSP have fielded their nominees in all segments while NCP nominees are in 5.CPIML candidates are also trying their luck from 4 constituencies while CPI from 2. In Goh constituency, ruling JD U renominated its jailed MLA Dr. Ran Vijay Kumar while RJD has put Ayodhya Prasad Yadav against him. Nationalist Congress has fielded a woman candidate while Kokab Kadri is a congress nominee. A total of 13 candidates including 2 women are in fray from this constituency. In Obra segment sitting MLA Satya Narayan Yadav is RJD nominee while two times MLA Rajaram Singh is CPIML candidate. Congress Candidate Arvind Sharma and JDU nominee Pramod Chandravanshi are included in 11 candidates contesting from Obra. From Naxal affected Nabinagar constituency, Archna Chandra is lone woman candidate as BSP nominee. Sitting MLA Vijay Kumar Singh is candidate of opposition RJD LJP alliance while former MP and MLA Virendra Kumar is ruling JDU candidate. Congress has fielded Mritunjay Singh while former MLA Ram Chandra Yadav is CPI nominee. A total of 15 candidates are trying their luck from Nabinagar. Kutumba Reserved constituency is also Naxal affected and BSP candidate Manorma Devi is lone woman among 10 contestants. Ruling JDU has fielded Lallan Ram denying renomination of sitting party MLA. Congress has filed former minister Rajesh Ram while former minister Suresh Paswan is RJD nominee. From Aurnagabad constituency BJP has renominated its sitting MLA Ram Adhar Singh. People are witnessing a very interesting contest in this constituency as RJD nominee Sunil Kumar Singh is brother of JDU MP Sushil Kumar Singh. Ranjan Kumar Singh Son of former MP Shankar Dayal Singh is also in contest as independent candidate from this segment. CPI and BSP have also put up their nominees. There is no woman among 16 candidates from the seat. In Naxal hit Rafiganj constituency RJD has fielded its sitting MLA while JDU candidate Ashok Kumar Singh is son of a former MLA. Lone woman candidate Congress nominee Madhwi Singh is daughter- in- law of former minister Vijay Kumar Singh. About 13 lakhs 32 thousand voters would political fate aspirants from Aurangabad district on 20th of this month in last phase of assembly elections.
