Campaigning on for assembly elections in Tamil Nadu

<span style="color: #222222;">In Tamil Nadu, campaigning is going on for the State Assembly Elections. The state will be witnessing Single- Phase elections and all the Assembly Constituencies will go to polls on 6th of April. Polling for the Bye-Election for the Kanyakumari Lok Sabha seat will also be held simultaneously. The total strength of the house is 234 out of which 44 seats are reserved for the Scheduled Castes and two seats are reserved for the Scheduled Tribes. Presently, there are four vacancies in the house.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">In the Assembly Elections held in 2016, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam secured clear majority capturing 137 seats while Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam bagged 88 seats. Indian National Congress won eight and Indian Union Muslim League got one seat.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">In the 2011 Assembly Elections, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam had a big sweep in its favour with 150 seats while Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam bagged 29 and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam won 23 seats. Communist Party of India (Marxist) won 10 and Communist Party of India won nine seats while Indian National Congress got five seats. Besides, Pattali Makkal Katchi won three seats along with Manithaneya Makkal Katchi and Puthiya Tamilagam got two each while the remaining one seat went to All India Forward Bloc.</span><br />''
