Campaigning is all set to gain further momentum with national leaders of political parties begining the tour of the state in a bid to capture the voters imagination. Defence Minister Mr A K Antony will begin his campaign from Kasargod today, while CPM General Secretary Mr Prakash Karat will kick off his campaign at Thrissur. Union Minister Mr Vayalar Ravi and CPI General Secretary Mr A B Bardhan are participating in a series of meetings in Kochi later this afternoon. Leader of the Opposition Ms Sushama Swaraj will be arriving in the state capital this morning to campaign for her party candidates. UPA Chairperson Ms Sonia Gandhi is scheduled to take part in the election campaign meetings at Haripad, Thrissur and Kozhikode on the 6th , while Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, will address public meetings at Kollam and Kottayam on the 9th of this month. For BJP, Party National President Nitin Gadkari will be participating in the election campaign meeting on the 10th of this month at Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur and Palakkad.
