Campaigning is on the peak for the assembly elections in Bihar. Star campaigners of different political parties are addressing a series of meeting to garner support in favour of their party candidates. 47 seats will go to polls on the 21st of this month in the first phase. AIR correspondent reports that amidst Dushera Puja celebrations leaders of political parties went on whirlwind tours in different areas of the state to woo voters. Meanwhile, the NDA has alleged that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has projected the condition of the state in a wrong way. Talking to reporters along with BJP leader Arun Jaitley in Patna today, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar refuted those charges in which the Prime Minister had charged the Bihar government with failure to implement central sponsored schemes particularly for minorities.Regarding non utilization of funds, Mr. Kumar said that the central agency in Bihar has failed to utilize the fund and this matter has been raised with Planning Commission several times. He further stated that the Bihar is getting one thousand crores of rupees per year since 2002 as per the Bihar Re-organisation Bill which was enacted after creation of Jharkhand out of Bihar. Mr. Arun Jaitely said that Bihar is getting the quantum of financial assistance from the Centre which is collected as taxes from the people.
