Electioneering in 49 assembly seats in 13 districts of Uttar Pradesh comes to a close this evening. This is the fifth phase of elections in the state in which 840 candidates are trying their political fortune. They include 84 women candidates. Over 16 thousand seven hundred polling booths are being set up for 1 Crore 53 Lakh eligible voters . Our correspondent reports, there is multi-cornered contest at every seat with ruling BSP and opposition SP and BJP fielding their candidates in all the constituencies. The Congress is contesting 48 seats, leaving one to its political ally Rashtriya Lok Dal. Our correspondent adds that star campaigners of political parties are addressing election rallies today to make a last bid to woo the voters. The elections will be held in two more phases to complete the voting process in all the 403 seats. In Goa, political leaders are addressing election rallies to seek the support of voters. Votes will be cast on 3rd of March for 40 member assembly. Counting will take place on 6th of next month.
