In Bihar, famous city Gaya is situated on the banks of river Falgu and it is a place sanctified by both the Hindu and the Buddhist religions. Of a total of ten constituencies of the district five including Bodh Gaya, Gaya town, Atri, Belaganj and Wazirganj will go for polls on 9th of next month during 5th phase of elections. AIR correspondent reports a total of 76 candidates including 5 women are in fray in five constituencies of the district going for poll on 9th of next month. Of them, highly sensitive Gaya town is among few constituencies of the state where left forces are very strong and six times CPI candidates have been nearest rival in the Assembly elections. Maximum 21 candidates are in fray in this constituency including PWD Minister of the state government Prem Kumar. In Bodh Gaya, BJP had won last Assembly election and this time party has fielded its sitting MLA. A total of 10 candidates are in fray and most of the major parties have fielded their candidates in this constituency. Congress is trying its level best to regain its past glory as its candidate was third in the last elections. Wazirganj, a new constituency has come up after delimitation process. A total of 18 candidates are in fray in this constituency and Congress has fielded three-time MLA as its candidate. Atri and Belaganj constituencies are treated as strong hold of RJD and BJP. RJD has fielded its sitting MLAs in both the constituencies. In Atri a total 15 candidates while in Belaganj 12 are in fray. Most of the major parties including BJP, Congress, RJD and CPI leaders have hectic schedule in the district to insure victory of their candidates. A total of 11 lakhs 49 thousand electorates would decide the political fate of candidates including five sitting and three former MLAs.
