Campaigning for seventh phase elections in Uttar Pradesh ended this evening. 60 constituencies of ten districts in western UP and Terai region are covered in this phase. 962 candidates including one hundred women are in the fray . More than one corer 80 lakh voters may cast their vote for this phase.
Elaborate arrangements have been made for the last phase polling. Central paramilitary forces today took out flag march in different areas. The Indo-Nepal border and border areas neighboring to Uttrakhand have been sealed from this evening .Polling parties will leave for polling centers from tomorrow morning.
More than 17 thousand polling stations have been set up for all the constituencies. Viedography will be carried out in many sensitive polling centers. Several prominent candidates including Samajwadi Party candidate Mohammad Azam Khan, the ex Minister and congress Candidate Anees Ahmed Khan,Ex Minster and BJP candidate Ram Kumar Verma are also are in the fray in this phase.
Stakes of ruling Bahujan Samaj Party is very high in this phase too. Before delimitations there were 57 seats in last assembly elections from these areas. The Bahujan Samaj Party got maximum 27 seats while Samajwadi Party bagged 17 seats. While BJP won 9 seats and congress got only one seat. In this phase congress has left ten seats for its alliance partner Rashtriya Lok Dal time.
The voting for seventh phase will take place on 3rd march in Bijnor, Moradabad, Bheem Nagar,Rampur,Jyotiba Phule Nagar, Budaun, Pilibhit, Shahjhanpur and Lakahipur Kheri districts .
