In Chhattisgarh, campaigning for the 72 assembly segments going to polls in the second phase on Tuesday will come to an end this evening. Our correspondent reports that, EIGHT HUNDRED AND FORTY TWO candidates are in the fray in these constituences. The Congress, BJP and other political parties are putting in their best to canvass support for their candidates on the last day of electioneering. Congress mainly raised issues of corruption and deteriorating law and order situation in the state while the BJP has sought to project its government's achievements to seek voters mandate. Bahujan Samaj Party and regional Chhattisgarh Swabhiman Manch and Gondwana Gantantra Party have made contest triangular in some of the constituencies.
Out of the 72 constituencies , Congress and BJP holds 35 seats each in the outgoing assembly while BSP has two legislators at present.
