Campaigning for 5th phase of Jharkhand elections to end today

In Jharkhand, the campaigning for the 5th and final phase of Assembly elections will come to an end this evening. 16 seats will go to poll on Friday. Counting will be held on 23rd December. Our correspondent reports that top leaders of polical parties addressed rallies in different places of the state yesterday. <br/><br/>Meanwhile, the Election Commission has deputed a senior official to Patna to co-ordinate the security matters in view of the 5th phase of elections in Jharkhand on Friday. The Deputy Election Commissioner J.P. Prakash will have detailed discussions with senior State-level Administrative and Police officials in Patna in this regard. An official of the Commission told AIR that adequate security network is being established in all the districts of Jharkhand bordering Bihar to thwart any Naxal activity on poll day. He said, adequate number of security forces, both central and State, are being deployed for free, fair and violence-free elections in the State. Around 75,000 jawans and officers are being deployed along with six helicopters for air surveillance. Polling for the 5th and final phase of 16 seats will be held on Friday, while counting of votes will take place on the 23rd of this month.<br/><br/>AIR Correspondent reports that the main opposition leaders of all political parties are making last ditch efforts to woo the voters as campaigning comes to an end at 3.00 PM today,<br/><br/><br/>
