Campaigning for the second phase of West Bengal Assembly Elections which comes to an end this evening, has reached a feverish pitch. In the second phase of polling fifty seats in Nadia, Murshidabad and Birbhum districts will go to the polls. Altogether 293 candidates are in the fray for this phase. Repolling in two booths in two districts of North Bengal passed off smoothly yesterday. Meanwhile, Deputy Election Commissioner Vinod Zutshi yesterday held meetings with senior officials to take stock of the security preparedness for the second and third phase of West Bengal Assembly elections, scheduled to be held on 23rd and 27th of this month. The meeting mainly discussed force deployment and law and order situation of the districts going to the poll.
