In Uttar Pradesh the campaigning for the first phase will end tomorrow. Polling for first phase will be held on 8th February in 55 constituencies of 10 districts of mainly Awadh and eastern UP. The last date for withdrawal of Candidature for fifth phase is also ending tomorrow. The Nomination for last and seventh phase will also begin from Monday.AIR correspondent reports, it’s just about twenty fours left for the formal end of campaigning of the first phase elections in Uttar Pradesh. Leaders and candidates of different parties addressed meetings and rallies in several areas to reach maximum number of voters. While addressing a meeting in Jaunpur the BJP president Nitin Gadkari criticised opposition for neglecting backward community for decades. The Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said in Basti that congress didn’t have any post election deal with any political party but certainly his party has a pact with the people only. In the midst of election preparations the election commission’s media monitoring teams is keeping close watch on political advertisements.The commission has also said that without prior approval of advertisement form concerned returning officers the publication of such advertisements will be considered as violation of code of conduct. Meanwhile the surveillance team has seized about eleven lakh rupees in Muzaffarnagar district.
