Campaigning ends this evening for 8th phase of LS polls

Campaigning ends this evening for the 8th phase of Lok Sabha elections in 64 constituencies, spread over 7 states, which will go to polls on Wednesday.

These Constituencies are, 25 in Andhra Pradesh, seven in Bihar, all four in Himachal pradesh, two in Jammu and Kashmir, 15 in Uttar Pradesh, all five in Uttarakhand and six in West Bengal.

175 assembly segments in the Seemandhra region of Andhra Pradesh will also go to the polls in the penultimate phase of Lok Sabha elections on Wednesday. Polling will begin at 7 am and continue till 6 p.m. except in some Maoist affected areas in Bihar where polling will end at 4 p.m.

Meanwhile, electioneering is at its peak in these constituencies as leaders of various political parties and candidates are making last ditch efforts to woo the voters in their favour.

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi are already camping in Amethi Parliamentary constituency from where Rahul Gandhi is seeking re-election holding road shows and rallies. BJP leader Narendra Modi is expected to hold a rally in Amethi Lok Sabha seat today. Sonia Gandhi will hold a public rally at Muzaffarpur in Bihar this afternoon.

For the last and 9th phase of Lok Sabha elections on the 12th of May for the remaining 41 seats, electioneering has also reached a feverish pitch. The fate of candidates in 438 constituencies is already sealed in Electronic Voting machines where elections have already been completed.
