Campaigning ends for final phase of LS polls in Bihar

Campaigning for the last and final phase of Lok Sabha election in Bihar on May 12 has ended. AIR correspondent reports that, prominent stalwarts of various political parties including Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, BJP Senior leader Narendra Modi, Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar, RJD president Lalu Prasad, LJP chief Ramvilas Paswan and several leaders conducted hectic campaign in the constituencies slated for polling in the last phase of the election in state.

Six parliamentary constituencies, Valmikinagar, East Champaran, West Champaran, Vaishali, Gopalganj and Siwan are going to polls in this phase. BJP leader Narendra Modi addressed 6 public meeting in this phase of polling, while Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi addressed 2 rallies in these constituencies. State level leaders like Nitish Kumar, Laloo Prasad, Sushil Kumar Modi and Ramvilas Paswan also addressed more than 2 dozen rallies. With the end of the campaign the candidates were now busy in door to door contact programme and personal meeting along with their supporters to woo the voters. Polling will be started at 7AM in all polling booths and end at 6PM, but some of the Naxal affected pockets polling would conclude at 4 PM. The fate of former union minister Raghuvansh Prasad Singh and Raghunath Jha, film maker Prakash Jha and Dr Jyoti will be decided in this phase.
