Campaigning ends for fifth phase of assembly polls in Bihar

In Bihar, campaigning for the fifth phase of election in the state came to an end this evening. Polling will be held in 35 assembly constituencies on Tuesday. AIR Patna correspondent reports, out of these 16 constituencies are naxal infested.Stalwarts of different political parties including Senior BJP leader Lal Krishna Adwani, Chief minister Nitish Kumar, Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi, JD ( U) President Sharad Yadav, RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, LJP President Ram Vilash Paswan and left leaders addressed a series of election meetings in different parts of the constituencies to woo voters in favour of their party candidates . Our correspondent reports that leaders have now started door to door contact to attract voters. Meanwhile, the Election Commission has changed the poll timing in four more constituencies on account of security reasons for this phase. The revised poll timing in Hilsa, Belaganj and Wazirganj assembly constituencies has been rescheduled from 7 am to 4 pm whereas in Atari constituency the voting time will be from 7 am to 3 pm. Earlier poll timing was from 7 am to 5pm.In 12 constituencies poll timing is already from 7 am to 3 pm .
