In Assam, campaigning has reached its peak for the by-polls to be held in 4 assembly seats on 21st of this month. Polling will be held at Sonari, Ratabari,  Rangapara and Jania. A total of 20 candidates are in the fray. The ruling BJP and opposition Congress have fielded candidates in all the four seats. By-polls have been necessitated in these 4 seats which fell vacant after the recent Lok Sabha elections.<br />'' <br />'' The Jania seat was represented by the Congress while the rest 3 seats were won by the BJP in the 2016 assembly polls. Senior BJP leader and Chief Minister Sarbanand Sonowal, state BJP President Ranjit Kumar Dass, Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, State Congress President Ripun Bora, Congress MP Abdul Khaleqe and AIUDF President Badruddin Ajmal are campaigning for their party candidates. <br />''  <br />
