The campaigning for the first Phase of the UP Assembly Elections has reached a feverish pitch. Elections in this Phase will be held on February 8 for 55 constituencies. Top leaders of all parties are addressing several rallies in a day mainly in Awadh and Tarai region. BSP Chief Mayawati, Samajwadi Party Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, BJP President Nitin Gadkari, senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley and Delhi Chief Minister Shiela Dixit addressed several rallies in Gonda, Basti, Faizabad, Barabanki and Sitapur.AIR correspondent says while the ruling party is asking vote on its five-years' performance, the opposition is raising the mainly lawlessness and corruption.
