Campaign, poll preparations gain momentum in TN

In Tamil Nadu, campaign and poll preparations by election authorities have gained momentum, as the state gears to face the assembly elections scheduled for the 13th of next month. The 4280 nominations filed in the 234 constituencies will be taken up for scrutiny on Monday. Leaders of almost all political parties are making a whirl wind tour of the state to woo the voters. Candidates are working out strategies to catch the attention of the undecided voter, who normally determines the winner. Meanwhile, the Election Commission is running a sustained campaign appealing to the first time voters to participate in the elections in a big way. Our correspondent reports that political parties are grappling with the problem of rebel candidates.
