In Kerala, with 970 candidates left in the fray for the forthcoming assembly elections, the campaign for April 13 polls has intensified in the state. Despite independents and other state level parties trying their luck, the main tussle is among ruling CPIM led LDF, Congress led UDF and BJP. Senior leaders of various political parties are expected to join the campaign in coming days. AIR correspondent reports, rice for rupees two per kilogram has once again become a major poll issue in Kerala as the Supreme Court has stayed provision of rice to more people till the election is over. With election scenario becoming clear all parties have further intensified second phase campaigning. Apart from Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh a long line of senior leaders of different parties are likely to reach Kerala for poll campaign in coming days. While ruling LDF of Kerala is sure to come back to power highlighting development during last five years, Congress led UDF is supremely confident of snatching power based on its very good performance in parliament election and recent local self government election. BJP is also leaving no stone unturned to open account in Kerala assembly.
