Campaign for 1st phase Bihar Assembly polls ends today

The campaigning for the first phase of assembly elections in Bihar ends this evening. 47 constituencies will go to polls in this phase on Thursday. Campaigning has reached a feverish pitch in constituencies going to the polls in this phase. AIR correspondent K.K. Lal reports from Patna that this time all political parties are raising issues of development prominently keeping in mind caste equations and social engineering. Leaders of NDA are exhorting people to cast their votes in favour of their candidates to speed up the development of the state. On the other hand opposition parties including Congress, RJD and LJP are holding responsible for backwardness of the state. Leaders of congress party are questioning from Nitish led NDA government that what they did of crores of rupees which was allotted to this state by the centre for development purposes. Most of the constituencies of the first phase of elections are in border areas. In view of this all opposition parties are promising for welfare of the minorities.
