The Calcutta High Court today ordered filing of FIR against Trinamool Congress MP Tapas Pal and CID probe over his controversial comments against women and CPIM supporters during 2014 election campaign.
Referee Judge Justice Nishita Mahatre before whom the matter was referred by the Chief Justice following a split order passed by Division Bench of the High Court, upheld the earlier order and directed lodging of FIR and CID investigation into the matter.
Pal had made the controversial comments during a public meeting in his constituency at Krishnanagar in Nadia District.
The Trinamool Congress MP in his controversial comments had said that he will send party supporters to opposition camps to rape their women. Later he tendered a public apology for the remarks .
