Calcutta HC orders fresh CBI probe in Rizwanur death

The Calcutta High Court on Tuesday ordered the CBI to initiate fresh investigations and register a murder case in the mysterious death of computer graphics teacher Rizwanur Rahman. <br/><br/>Setting aside the CBI investigation earlier ordered by a single bench, a division bench comprising Justices Bhaskar Bhattacharya and Prasenjit Mondal directed the CBI to treat the complaint filed by Rukbanur Rahman, elder brother of Rizwanur, on September 21, 2007, as an FIR. The Bench also directed the investigating agency to conclude its investigation within four months.<br/><br/>The G-15 member states have stressed the need for international financial reform as financial and economic crisis provided fresh impetus for the step and modernisation of Bretton Woods institutions. <br/><br/>Moreover, these reforms must reflect current realities and should enhance the perspective, voice and participation of dynamic emerging markets and developing countries.<br/><br/>The group -15 members in its joint communiqu’, after the conclusion of their summit expressed grave concern on adopting extraterritorial and unilateral economic sanctions, coercive economic measures or law against developing countries as well as using international economic and financial system as political instruments to impose such measure. <br/><br/>The G-15 summit resolved that an international law is essential for international peace, security and development based on based on the principles of multilateralism in UN charter.
