The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) has flagged several deficiencies in financial management, planning and implementation of Namami Gange Programme during the past three years. The performance audit by the CAG has revealed under-utilisation of funds and delays in project approvals and in achieving targets under the programme between 2014-15 and 2016-17. <br/><br/>CAG report was tabled in Parliament today. It said the funds amounting to over 2,133 crore rupees, 422 crore rupees and 59 crore rupees were lying un-utilised with the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) in three years. <br/><br/>The Clean Ganga Fund having a corpus of 198.14 crore rupees till March 31, 2017 could not be utilised by the NMCG and the entire amount was lying in banks due to non-finalisation of action plan.
