Cabinet Secretary urges civil servants to implement zero tolerance against corruption

The Cabinet Secretary Mr. K M Chandrasekhar has urged civil servants to implement zero tolerance against corruption.In a letter to secretaries to the central government and the chief secretaries of the states and Union Territories, he also called for adressing the issue of corruption fairly and squarely.Mr Chandrasekhar urged to stregthen preventive vigilance and implementation of tranasprancy in decision making .He advocated stringent action against guility officers . Asking civil servants to stand by and uphold the core values,Mr Chandrasekhar said senior officers must set an example and mentor their colleagues. He added, of late, there have been some disturbing incidents which call for serious introspection by civil service. Noting that civil servants are appointed on the basis of a fair and open competition, the Cabinet Secretary asked them to respond in full measure to the faith that citizens have reposed in us and meet their hopes and aspirations of good governance.<br/><br/>
