Cabinet Secretary P K Sinha has asked Prabhari officers to work in team spirit with State representatives and bring convergence in their effort to rapidly transform the identified 115 backward districts by 2022. <br/><br/>Addressing the first meeting of officers for rapid transformation of backward districts in New Delhi today, Mr Sinha said, funds are not a constraint in the programme. <br/><br/>He also advised them to explore the availability of funds in District Mineral funds. <br/><br/>Terming this as an important initiative of making difference in the lives of millions of citizens in these districts, Mr Sinha advised the officers to use flexi-fund which are significant in amount. <br/><br/>CEO, Niti Aayog Amitabh Kant emphasised that transformation of the backward districts is urgently required for dramatic improvement in Human Development Index. <br/><br/>He advised the Prabhari officers to assist the District administration in the articulation of their vision for 2022, in ensuring the convergence of the efforts of central and state government.<br/><br/>Home Secretary Rajiv Gauba said, there would be a tremendous improvement in security environment if the districts are transformed. <br/><br/>He emphasised that while 35 districts have been selected on the basis of reported violence by Left Wing Extremism, 55 districts out of 115 are affected by Left Wing extremism and another 15, including districts in Jammu and Kashmir and North East are affected by terrorism.
