The Cabinet Secretary Mr. K M Chandrasekhar has asked the Civil Services to refurbish its image and implement zero tolerance to corruption fully and effectively. In a letter to Secretaries to the Central Government and the Chief Secretaries of the States , he said, the issue of corruption needs to be addressed fairly and squarely. Mr. Chandrasekhar said, preventive vigilance should be strengthened and transparency must be introduced in decision making and in all our systems. Mr. Chandrasekhar said, stringent action must be taken against officers found guilty. <br/><br/>The Cabinet Secretary's letter comes close on the heels of the Centre constituting a high-level group headed by him for speedy scrutiny of complaints against the Secretaries to the government.
