Cabinet reshuffle tomorrow; SM Krishna, Ambika Soni, Mukul Wasnik & Subodhkant Sahai resign

Several Senior ministers including External Affairs Minister S.M Krishna, Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni, Social Justice Minister Mukul Wasnik, Tourism minister Subodhkant Sahai and MoS for Tribal affairs Mahadev Khandela have submitted their resignations to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

The resignations come ahead of the Cabinet reshuffle tommorow. Rashtrapati Bhavan Spokesperson Venu Rajamony said that the reshuffle is to take place at 11:30 AM. Our correspondent reports the major Cabinet reshuffle before the 2014 Lok sabha polls, is expected to see induction of new faces.

Reports said more Ministers are likely to quit ahead of the reshuffle. Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and Congress President Sonia Gandhi held consultations yesterday giving final touches to the exercise.

External Affairs Minister S M Krishna who sent his resignation to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh yesterday said he has stepped down to pave the way for youngsters and strengthen the hands of leadership of the party.
