Three Ministers have been elevated to the Cabinet rank, two new faces make their way into the Council of Minister and one reinducted. There have also been several changes in the portfolio allocation.Three Ministers, Mr. Praful Patel, Shivprakash Jaiswal and Salman Khursheed have been elevated to Cabinet rank. Praful Patel gets Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises. Salman Khursheed will be the Water Resources Minister with additional charge of Minority Affairs. Two new faces have been inducted in the Council of Ministers. Beni Prasad Verma, to be the Minister of State with Independent Charge of Steel and K.C. Venugopal to get portfolio of Minister of State for Power.Mr. Ashvini Kumar has made a come back as the Minister of State for Planning and Parliamentary Affairs, Science & Technology and Earth Sciences.Ajay Maken to get Independent Charge of Youth Affairs and Sports while M.S. Gill has been given Statistics and Programme Implementation, Prof. K. V. Thomas gets Independent Charge of Food and Public Distribution. Mr. Sharad Pawar sheds Food and Public Distribution & Consumer Affairs and retains Agriculture. He also gets Food Processing Industries. Mr. Vir Bhadra Singh, shifted from Steel Minister to Micro Small and Medium Enterprises, Mr. Vilasrao Deshmukh will be the Rural Development Minister with additional charge of Panchayati Raj.Mr. C. P. Joshi who was earlier holding this charge will get Road Transport and Highways. Mr. Kamal Nath now becomes the minister of Urban Development. Mr. Jaipal Reddy who was Urban Development Minister will be the new Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister.Mr. Murali Deora who was holding this charge will now get Corporate Affairs. Mr. Kapil Siba retain Human Resource Development with additional charge of Communication and Information Technology. Mr. Pawan Kumar Bansal retains Parliamentary Affairs and gets additional charge of Science and Technology and Earth Sciences.Mr. Subodh Kant Sahay has been given Tourism and Kumari Selja has been given additional charge of Culture. Mr. B. K. Handique has been divested of Mines portfolio but retains the charge of Development of North Eastern Region. Overseas Indian Affairs Minister Vayalar Ravi gets additional charge of Civil Aviation in place of Praful Patel. The other changes are Mr. E. Ahmed who was Minister of State ailways will now be MoS for External Affairs. Mr. Bharat Singh Solanki will hold the charge of MoS Railways. Mr. Gurudas Kamat will be the Minister of State for Home in place of Mr. Ajay Maken. Mr. Harish Rawat will be the MoS for Agriculture and Food Processing Industries.Mr. Jitin Prasada will be MoS Road Transport and Highways, Mr. A. Sai Pratap- Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, Mr. Mahadev S. Khandela Tribal Affairs, Mr. Tusharbhai Chaudhary- Road Transport and Highways, Mr. Arun Yadav-Agriculture and Food Processing Industries, Mr. Pratik Prakashbapu Patil – Coal.Mr. V. Narayanasamy will retain Parliamentary Affairs and Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions and Prime Minister's Office.
