The Cabinet reshuffle will take place on Wednesday. According to official sources, the swearing in ceremony of new ministers will take place at 5 PM. Earlier the UPA chairperson Mrs. Sonia Gandhi held a meeting with the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh on Tuesday. Political Secretary to the Congress President Ahmed Patel was also present during the meeting. Issues related to reshuffle were discussed at the meeting which lasted about two hours. AIR correspondent reports, several portfolios fell vacant in the Council of Ministers after A. Raja had resigned from the cabinet in the wake of 2G spectrum issue , Prithviraj Chavan who was Minister of State in PMO was shifted as Chief Minister of Maharasthra. Mr. Shashi Tharoor who was holding the portfolio of Minister of State for External Affairs also resigned earlier following IPL controversy. The Congress party sources earlier said that some of the leaders in the Council of Ministers may also be drafted for the party work.
