Congress has held that the cabinet reshuffle as a meaningful change giving representation to both youth and experienced. Party General Secretary Janardan Dwivedi told media persons that the reshuffle will further improve the functioning of the government.
The BJP, has however, described it as lackluster and a face saving exercise. BJP spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain said that the exercise will not do any good to the country or improve the Congress' image.
Former UPA ally Trinamool Congress said that the inclusion of three Ministers from West Bengal has done to needle the party. The TMC leader Saugata Roy said that the West Bengal has been deprived of adequate ministerial representation.
The Union Cabinet was reshuffled on Sunday with inclusion of 17 new faces into it. Several portfolios were also reallocated as part of the reshuffle.
