Cabinet recommends revocation of President rule in Arunachal

Union Cabinet has recommended revocation of President's Rule in Arunachal Pradesh. Sources said a decision in this regard was taken during Cabinet meeting in New Delhi today. <br/><br/>It came a day after the Supreme Court refused to restrain the Governor from swearing in a new government in the state. The central rule was imposed in the state on On 26th of last month. <br/><br/>On Monday, 32 MLAs, led by Congress dissident Kalikho Pul, called on the Governor JP Rajkhowa to stake claim for forming the next government in the politically fragile state. The revolt by Congress dissidents led by Mr. Pul led to a political crisis in the state that finally led to imposition of President's Rule. <br/><br/>Yesterday, a Congress delegation met President Pranab Mukherjee and urged him not to take any action over withdrawal of President's Rule if Centre makes any recommendation in this regard. <br/><br/>The Supreme Court is hearing petitions seeking examination about the scope of discretionary powers of the Governor.
