The Centre has approved four rail line projects in Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and Chhattisgarh at a cost of around 8351 crore rupees. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday gave its nod for the doubling of Kottavalasa-Koraput, Koraput-Singapur and Jagdalpur-Koraput road section railway lines.

Doubling of these lines will greatly ease the ever increasing freight traffic between these sections thereby increasing the revenue of Railways. The projects are likely to be completed in the next seven years.
