The Union cabinet has given ex-post-facto approval to MoU with Bangladesh for Mode of Operation of Border haats signed in 2010 . Border haats will be established after identification of locations in consultation with Bangladesh and concerned States. Border haats promote traditional system of marketing of local produce through local markets on currency/ barter basis.<br/><br/>In another decision the cabinet has approved transfer of land from Farakka Barrage Project to Inland Waterways Authority for construction of a new navigational lock. The new lock will ensure smooth and seamless movement of vessels on national waterways one(NW1) which runs from Allahabad to Haldia.<br/><br/>The cabinet has also given ex-post facto approval for signing of MoU between Airports Authority of India and Singapore Cooperation Enterprise. The objective of MoU is for cooperation in civil aviation, which will cover, to begin with, airports of Jaipur and Ahmedabad. <br/><br/>The Union Cabinet has given its ex-post facto approval to the Agreement between India and Bahrain on Cooperation in Combating International Terrorism, Transnational Organized Crime and Trafficking in Illicit Drugs. The MOU shall come into force from the date of exchange of the instruments of ratification. The agreement is aimed at improving the effectiveness of both countries in the prevention, investigation, prosecution and suppression of crimes including crime relating to terrorism, transnational organized crime and drug trafficking. It will help establish framework for enhancing cooperation between the intelligence and law-enforcement agencies of the two countries.
