Cabinet expansion under consideration says PM; denies difference of opinion with Sonia Gandhi

The Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has said cabinet expansion is under consideration.

Speaking to reporters on board the aircraft, onhis way back home after a five-day visit to Japan & Thialand, he expressed concern over the latest IPL scandal and said that politics and sports should not get mixed up. He however refused to comment as the issue is under investigation.

Dr. Singh hoped that the civil nuclear cooperation agreement with Japan will be signed nex year. He said the India's Look East policy has started paying rich dividends and huge investments are being made in the infrastructure sector.

Dr Singh said that inflation will come down in the coming months.
Dismissing reports that there is difference of opinion between him and Sonia Gandhi. he asserted that they work together on almost all issues.

The Prime Minister slammed the Opposition for adopting an obstructionist role in Parliament and added that there are no permanent allies and no permanent enemies in politics. Dr. Manmohan Singh described his visit to Japan and Thailand as successful.

During the visit Dr. Singh held detailed discussions with the Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe and his Thai counterpart Yingluck Shinawatra on a host of issues to further deepen and diversify cooperation.

In his discussions with the Japanese Prime Minister, Japan pledged a loan of over 353 billion US dollars for eight Rail Projects in India. This includes a 71 billion dollar loan for the Mumbai Metro Line third Project.

After delegation level talks with the Thai Prime Minister, the two countries signed seven agreements including an extradition treaty providing a major boost to bilateral security cooperation .
