Cabinet Committee on Security meets today

The Cabinet Committee on Security, CCS, is meeting in New Delhi today. Official sources said that the meeting is taking place in the backdrop of Indian sailors being held hostage by Somali pirates in the Gulf of Aden. AIR Correspondent reports that the government has already asserted that all the measures are being taken to ensure the safe release of Indian nationals. External Affairs Minister, Mr. S.M. Krishna had told Parliament on Thursday that the government would do everything possible to get the sailors released. He, however, cautioned against emotive response at it could endanger their lives. The family members of the sailors also met the Prime Minister yesterday. Dr. Manmohan Singh assured them that the government is working with various other countries for the release of the sailors.
