Cabinet Committee nod for Rs 7,346 cr for relief and rehab of flood ravaged U'khand

A Cabinet Committee on Uttarakhand, headed by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, has sanctioned 7,346 crore rupees for the relief and
rehabilitation of flood-hit Uttarakhand. A statement issued by the Uttrakhand Government in Dehradun said that the decision was taken
during a meeting held at the Prime Minister's official residence in New Delhi.

Of the 7,346 crore rupees, 1,885 rupees will be given for Centre-aided schemes and 1,200 crore rupees for schemes under the National Disaster Relief Fund.

Meanwhile, the state government has issued 3,180 death certificates against the 4,025 people who had gone missing during the floods. Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna said in a statement that the remaining death certificates will be issued by 15th of this month.
