Cabinet has approved the proposal of the Election Commission to enter into Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation in the field of electoral management and administration with the Election Management Bodies of six countries and two International Agencies. <br/><br/>These MoUs would promote bilateral cooperation, aimed at building technical assistance and capacity support. <br/><br/>The MoUs contain standard articles and clauses which broadly express promotion of cooperation in exchange of knowledge and experience in the field of organizational and technical development of electoral process. <br/><br/>They also provisions of have support in exchanging information, institutional strengthening and capacity building, training of personnel, holding regular consultations. <br/><br/>The countries include Ecuador, Albania, Bhutan, Afghanistan, Guineaa and Myanmar. International agencies are India International Institute of Democracy and Election Management and International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance.
