The Union Cabinet cleared a Bill to protect Whistle Blower and punish those exposing people disclosing information. The proposed Legislation, Public Interest Disclosure and Protection to Person making the Disclosure Bill, 2010 provides the Central Vigilence Commission, powers of civil court to hand down harsh panelty to people revealing identity of whistle blower. The CVC will be empowered to take action against those who reveal the identity of whistle blowers or those who threaten the whistle blowers while those who make frevolous complaints, will also be liable to punishment..
