The appointments Committee of the Cabinet today approved important appointments under various Ministries and Departments of the Government of India. Mr. Ajit M. Sharan, an IAS officer of 1979 batch is appointed as Member Secretary for National Commission for women under the Ministry of Women and Child Development.

Mr. Rajiv Mehrishi an IAS officer of 1978 batch from Rajasthan cadre, presently working as Special Secretary, Department of Agricultural Research and Education, Ministry of Agriculture will take over as Secretary, Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs from Mr. Parvez Dewan, an IAS officer of 1977 batch from Jammu & Kashmir cadre. He is also given the additional charge of the post of Secretary, Ministry of Micro, Small adn Medium Enterprises for a period of Three months with immediate effect or until further orders whichever is earlier.

The ACC has approved the repatriation of Mr. T.S. Randhawa, an IAS officer of 1979 batch from Gujarat cadre with effect from 28th September.

The ACC has also approved Mr. Pankaj Jain's appointment as Secretary (additional charge), Department of Land Resources, Ministry of Rural Development with effect from 1st of this month for a period of three months or until further order, Whichever is earlier, he is presently working as Secretary in the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation. Mr. Jain is an IAS officer of 1978 batch from Jammu & Kashmir cadre.
