Cabinet approves fresh capital infusion to enhance lending capacity of PS Banks<br/>

The Cabinet has approved capital infusion to the tune of Rs. 6,000 crore to enhance the lending capacity of 10 public sector banks. This is in addition to Rs. 15,000 crore already provided in this years budget. The new infusion will hike the Centre&apos;s holding in all Public Sector Banks to 58 percent. According to a official release the proposed capital infusion would enhance the lending capacity of the PSBs to meet the credit requirement of the economy in order to maintain and accelerate the economic growth momentum. This additional availability of capital is likely to benefit employment oriented sectors, especially agriculture, micro and small enterprises, export, entrepreneurs etc.
