The Cabinet on Wednesday approved extension of time period of the scheme Special Industry Initiative for Jammu and Kashmir, UDAAN till 31st December next year. Initially the time period of Udaan was upto 2016-17. <br/><br/>The scheme provides exposure to the youth of the state to the best of corporate India and to corporate India to the rich talent pool available in the state. <br/><br/>So far, nearly 35 thousand candidates have been selected, around 30 thousand youth have been or are being trained and around 15 thousand have been offered jobs. <br/><br/>In spite of four month of unrest, the scheme has gained a good momentum and pace of implementation has been the best during financial year 2016-17. Udaan is a national integration scheme with the goal to mainstream youth of Jammu and Kashmir with rest of the country.
