Union Cabinet has approved the Telangana draft bill. The proposed Telangana state will consist of ten districts and Andhra Pradesh 13 districts. Briefing reporters after the Cabinet meeting in New Delhi this evening, Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde said that the Cabinet has approved the recommendations of the Group of Ministers(GoM) set up to look into bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh for carving out a new state of Telangana.
He said that Hyaderabad will be common capital for both the states for a period of ten years. Mr. Shinde the bill will be sent to the President tomorrow or day after for making a reference to the state assembly .
The Group of Ministers (GoM) had finalized its recommendations and the Cabinet note last night.
AIR correspondent reports that the panel had held a series of meetings with leaders of political parties, central ministers from Andhra Pradesh and Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and officials in the past one month.
