The Centre has approved 2 per cent Dearness Allowance to its employees and Dearness Relief to pensioners. The decision taken at the Cabinet meeting today will be effective from 1st of July,2016. About 50.68 lakh Government employees and 54.24 lakh pensioners will be benefited from this decision.<br/><br/>The combined impact on the exchequer on account of both Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief would be around Rs 5,622 crore per annum. However the implication would be around Rs 3,748 crore for July, 2016 to February,2017.
