Foreign Minister of Bangladesh Dr. A.K.Abdul Momen has said that the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens (NRC) are India's internal matters. In an interview to the news agency PTI, Dr Momen said that though uncertainty in the neighbourhood does affect Bangladesh but India has assured Bangladesh that CAA and NRC would have no effect on Bangladesh. He reiterated that Bangladesh is the No.1 friend of India.<br />'' <br />'' In the meanwhile, the main opposition party Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) said on Sunday that the CAA and NRC would hinder peace and stability in the subcontinent. Speaking to the media in Dhaka on Sunday, Secretary General of BNP Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that people in Bangladesh are worried about the NRC exercise in Assam. He criticized the Awami League led government for keeping silent on the issue.<br />
