The BJP said that by-elections are contested on local issues and need do not reflect national realities.

Party spokesman Bizay Sonkar Shastri told AIR that the results are not disappointing though pose a challenge and are a lesson for future.

Congress on the other hand said that the by-poll results and trends are a setback for the BJP.

Talking to AIR, party spokesperson Shobha Oza said the ruling party has failed to fulfill its promises made to the public and its lies have been exposed. She alleged that the party tried to communalize the atmosphere for electoral gains but it was rejected by voters.
