The councilor seat fell vacant following the resignation by Jamyang Tsering Namgyal after he was elected as Lok Sabha MP from Ladakh constituency. AIR correspondent reports that elaborate security arrangements are made for smooth and fair polling. BJP has fielded Stanzin Chosphel while Congress party has given mandate to sarpanch of Stok village Tashi Nurbo and Rinchan Gyurmat is in fray as Independent candidate for the seat.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Martselang constituency has a total of 4293 voters and out of it, 2004 are female voters. The chief election authority of Leh has set up 10 polling stations.
